MAKE IT A GREAT DAY: Wednesday on the deck – August 17th

I’ve been on the deck since 7:00 AM and it is moving in on 11:30 AM.

It’s been a gorgeous morning with a start of 63 degrees and now balancing at 74 degrees with only five more degrees anticipated. Lots of sunshine glowing around The Haasienda with sound effects of birds, buzzing of some type, teachers and staff apparently coming and going for a work day, and Shroyer Road traffic.

Yesterday, I spent three hours with historian and author, Chuck Johnson, at the Deeds Barn replica at Carillon Park. It was pretty neat that some of the Guests had Central Indiana ties from Kokomo and Marion, Indiana. Another set of Guests had grown up together in Dayton and even worked and retired from The University of Dayton security. They actually filled in some answers to questions I have had about the neighborhood to the east of the former NCR campus, now a part of The University of Dayton campus. It was great to spend time with Chuck who sent me home with some of his garden tomatoes and peppers.

I hurried home to feed the dogs and let them out before picking up Laura so we could Taco Tuesday it up at La Pinata. Actually, neither of us had tacos but it was a fun evening.

After Zoom time with London, I busied myself with more research due to some nuggets Chuck threw my way and some writing. I love having action and dialogue finally taking place. I have been itching to do so for quite some time, however, I love researching and want things to be in order.

It’s time to begin thinking about lunch, a trip to the store for a few items, and a return to the deck for writing.

What a terrific morning and I am proud to have already made it a great day!
