I woke at 5:00 AM and forced myself back to sleep for another two hours because I wanted to reserve enough fuel for today’s adventures.
And a new Mary Lincoln day lily is greeting everyone on Shroyer Road as they pass by.
My 7:15 AM Kettering to London call was quite hilarious as The Boys attempted to explain something from the Urban Dictionary. David was blushing every shade of red! Finally, Joshua simply said, “Okay, Dad. It means this…” He was direct.
I do find it amusing that adult sons still have difficulty describing things to a parent. I know there was a period where I was the same with my parents but by my mid-forties that had worn off.
Even more amusing was how open my sons were with Mother. I absolutely loved watching their banter with Mother and how naturally they chatted. They also had the same relationship with my sister, Dena.
When I began the breakfast procedure at 8:00 AM, I looked into the hallway to see Erma poised for her morning. She’s so adorable when she lays with her paws crossed in front of her. As I held up my phone to grab her photo, the Heckle & Jeckle Bitches (The Sisters) rushed in for a Girls’ Photo. Since it turned out cute, I was forgiving of the Duo’s photobomb of Erma.
Right now, The Sisters rush from the deck to bark at passing dogs along Rockhill. Chief manages to pull himself up, much slower, scramble across the deck and down the steps. He reminds me of all the beloved Golden Era celebrities crossing the stage on Johnny Carson’s nightly show and later, more aged but still full of spunk as THE LOVE BOAT guest stars. T
he old boy still gets the job done!
I need to be getting ready for my day. I’ve three major things to which I must attend. Sadly, this will keep me busy from my command post at the deck.
Laugh way too much and make it a great day!
