Several times upon returning home, I’ve found all three dogs in the living room. The kitchen gate, which is one of two, is always open.
Last night, I returned home to find the gate closed. Chief, who can easily jump the gate, was in the living room. Harrigan was with him. Bailey was in the kitchen, yelping because she could not be teamed with the others.
The kitchen gate was closed.
Last week, I discovered Harrigan could scale the small children’s gate I used to secure my study. As a student and I sat at the piano, we watched, with amusement, as Harrigan easily climbed the gate from the hallway-side, and hurled herself onto the study’s carpet.
I cannot begin to figure how Harrigan managed to climb the gate…
Of course, once upon a time, nearly three years ago, this little fellow was scaling a shelf-unit to make his way to the top of the stove….
