In August 2021, I sent in my tube of spittle to have my DNA analyzed. The results are not surprising.
ETHNICITY ESTIMATE:
81% German, Irish, French, English, and Scottish.
10% Wales.
5% Norway.
4% Other.
DNA COMMUNITIES:
Virginia Settlers. 1700-1950. Connected to regions of Germany, England, Ireland, and Scottish. This is connected to the Potomac River Valley Settlers, the Shenandoah Valley, as well as Lower Midwest & Central Kentucky Settlers.
Delaware Valley & Chesapeake Settlers. 1700-1975. Connected to Northwest Europe and includes Midwest Farmlands Settlers.
AREAS OF SETTLEMENT & MIGRATION:
My paternal Jolliffe ancestry from France and England migrated to Chesapeake, Virginia, and the James River Valley area of Virginia, settling in the Kanawa Valley region of Virginia, now Charleston, West Virginia. My line moved on through lower Ohio, settling in Butler County, Ohio before migrating to Eastern Indiana. ** This is correct information!
My Barmes (Bermes upon their 1834 arrival) came from Bavaria, Germany arriving in Maryland before migrating immediately to East Indiana. ** Again, this information was previously verified.
Other family lines from Europe settled in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
