This afternoon, Nicole and Ian Melin and I watched the Oscar-nominated live action and short animated features.

What a great collection of movies.

The 2018 nominees for Best Short Live Action Film:

1. DeKALB ELEMENTARY
2. MY NEPHEW EMMET
3. THE SILENT CHILD
4. WATU WOTE: ALL OF US
5. THE ELEVEN O’CLOCK

THE ELEVEN O’CLOCK was hilarious, however, it just didn’t have the impact of the first four shorts.  My vote is for MY NEPHEW EMMET.

The 2018 nominees for Best Short Animated Film:

1. DEAR BASKETBALL
2. NEGATIVE SPACE
3. REVOLTING RHYMES
4. GARDEN PARTY
5. LOU

My heart goes to DEAR BASKETBALL for the Best Short Animated Film, but I am certain it will probably go to GARDEN PARTY which was outstanding.
