Mother was born on a warm Spring Friday morning on April 6, 1945 at Mercy Hospital in Elwood, Indiana.
Six days later, my grandmother was walking the halls for exercise and heard the Nuns sobbing as they gathered around a radio. President Franklin Roosevelt had died.
On the 20th of April, my grandparents took Mother home, driving through a blizzard to get to their house.
Diana Kay Barmes married Danny Lee Jolliff, and together they had three children, Darin Lee (1964), Dena Linn (1973), and Destin Lang (1974-2019). She would later marry David Lewis Haas in 1983, and he would adopt Darin Jolliffe-Haas, Dena Haas (Johnson), and Destin Haas. Diana was also close to daughter, Autumn Haas.
She was “Grandma” to Joshua Jolliffe-Haas (deceased), Matthew Jolliffe-Haas, Jose Jolliffe-Haas, Quintin Jolliffe-Haas, Jonathan Surber, Andrew Surber, Griffith Jolliffe-Haas, Parker Haas, Freddie Haas, Kaytlinn Johnson, James Johnson, Carolyne Burke, Jude Burke.
