MAKE IT A GREAT DAY: Welcome, October!

Welcome, October 2023!

I am fifteen minutes behind in my morning routine as I hit the snooze but twice, something I almost never do. In fact, I am typically up and moving by 6 AM, beating my alarm clock’s first-morning announcement.

Last night, after finishing house manager duties, my excusal missed the 9:50 PM bus by three minutes. I checked Lyft and it was $15 from 2nd & Main Streets to my house. I decided it was worth it. But, first, I made the stupid mistake of walking several blocks to Arby’s which is across from Neon Movies on Patterson Street and Fifth Street. Their interior was closed. I checked Lyft and within fifteen minutes, the newer price range for a trip home was $31! That’s how Lyft and Uber work, especially with The University of Dayton so close. So, back I walked to the main terminal where I worked on some research and ate my PB&F, popcorn, and orange diet Fanta. It was a comfortable evening, but one filled with my own stupidity of not heading home immediately upon leaving The Schuster Center.

The furry creatures at The Haasienda were excited to see me and I, them. Bailey, Harrigan, and Colonel Deeds sat eagerly on the bed as I changed clothes. I warmed up a bowl of the cabbage and sausage soup I made earlier in the day, and that made my 12:20 AM approach to sleep much easier.

I have three more Dayton Live shifts this week on Tuesday, and Wednesday, with a children’s program, and Saturday night with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and “The Music of Queen.”

Make it a great day!
