At the last minute, I made the decision to grab No. 17 for downtown Dayton so I could dine at my Chinese Buffet and head to the Neon Movies for the 7:20 PM viewing of THE MIRACLE CLUB.
Kathy Bates. Maggie Smith. Laura Linney.
I figured it would be like riding The Beast, my favorite Kings Island roller coaster. For me, personally, it was more exciting as the highs were higher, the dips were much greater, and the ride met every emotional expectation from being buckled into the car until exiting the platform.
I saw this movie at the right time as I enter an episode of even greater reflection and accounting. Miracles. Coming to terms with the past. Greeting the future.
The movie reflects life’s own roller coaster. For some folks, one ride on The Beast is plenty. For me, I’ll ride the damned roller coaster over and over.
THE MIRACLE CLUB was a beautiful, exciting, and reflective ride for me.
