Today is the 148th anniversary of Anna Greenlee Jones’ birth. Anna Jones, my great-great grandmother, was born on this date in 1875 in Boone Township, Madison County, Indiana.

Anna was the daughter of Andrew Taylor Greenlee, and Prudence Anna Ball Greenlee, both from pioneer families of Boone Township.

She married Joel Monroe Jones, from Monroe Township, Madison County, just north of Alexandria, Indiana. Their children were Henry Jones, Mary Belle Jones Clary, Alpha “Alphie” Jones (who died on this date in 1973), and Harrison “Harry” Jones. The entire Jones family is buried in Forrestville Cemetery in the same township.
